The latest lottery winner in Abu Dhabi is a Pinay accountant
LOTTERY WINNER – An accountant from General Santos City is the latest lucky winner of the Mahzooz draw in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Joana, 39 years old, an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) brings home about P1.60 million.
The Pinoy expat intends to buy a lot of her winnings in her hometown.
“Super saya ko talaga I still find it hard to believe. I am still trying to digest everything, letting it sink in,” said the Pinay accountant who’s been based in Abu Dhabi since 2008.
Joana shared that it was only when the pandemic hit that she first became obsessed with the Mahzooz draw which later became her weekly tradition.
The accountant is the second Filipina to win the said draw this October.
Earlier, Carrol, 43, from Lapu-Lapu City in Cebu, got the same amount after also being lucky to guess the lucky Mahzooz number.
Last year, an OFW in UAE won AED10 million or a whopping PHP136 million in a lottery.
The winner who goes by the name as Paterio said the jackpot prize would help him in the therapy of his child who has cerebral palsy and for the tuition of another child who’s taking dentistry.
Aside from him, a certain Roland Baltazar, a delivery rider in Abu Dhabi, won AED1,000,000 or PHP13 million, Wendy Joy took home AED200,000 or PHP2.6 million. While Dennis won AED142,857 or PHP1.8 million, and Carl earned AED500,000 or PHP6.4 million.
