In a video posted on her social media account, the actress-entrepreneur shared the reason why her self-published book was meaningful to her on so many levels. She said that it took 12 years for her to write a book, adding that the book was so meaningful for her and it took her a long time to heal and process.

Until now, the actress-entrepreneur admitted that she still felt the backlash from people after what happened more than a decade ago.

She shared that there are still people who are disrespectful in their comments, and it took her 12 years in order to get to a point where she’s stable enough to talk about it and have a heart to help people.

So kung meron kang pinagdadaanan na mabigat, it will take time. Parang i-mindset mo na ang sarili mo na it’s a marathon, it’s not a sprint,” she shared.

To recall, Maricar previously talked about not having a child after a 9-year marriage with her husband Richard Poon in Rica Peralejo’s vlog.

At that time, she shared that she never reached the point of being envious of mothers her age despite their unsuccessful attempt to have children. According to her, not being a mom doesn’t make her feel like she’s “less of a person” or she’s “less of a female”.
