After 38 years, Jaclyn Jose is retiring from showbiz

JACLYN JOSE – The internationally acclaimed actress announced that she’s retiring from show business.

Mary Jane Santa Ana Guck whose also known as Jaclyn Jose is a Filipina actress who has earned international critical acclaim. She is best known for her roles in the films Private Show, White Slavery, and Santa Juana.

She is also known for playing the iconic Magda in the TV and film adaptations of the Primetime Soap Opera Mula Sa Puso.

In 2016, she starred in Brillante Mendoza’s Palme d’Or-nominated film Ma’ Rosa, for which she won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress.

The award-winning actress is currently making rounds online after announcing that she’s retiring from showbiz.

Jaclyn Jose announced her retirement from acting through Facebook and Instagram.

Her announcement was accompanied by a glimpse of her at the GMA Thanksgiving Gala with the background song of Jose Mari Chan’s “Beautiful Girl”.

Her post was captioned: “I am retiring…. Marami po salamat…. Masakit but..I know I have to go…. I just sooooo luv Andi and Gwen most and foremost to have come into this.”

Amid her alleged retirement, many are hoping that she would change her mind because “once an actress, always an actress.”

Her last primetime series was “Bolera” which ended on August 26, 2022.

On the other hand, her last movie Tahan on Vivamax is the last film she had in her 38 years in the showbiz industry.

Jose has yet to issue any clarification about her alleged retirement.
