Actor Christopher de Leon recalls the dark phase of his life
CHRISTOPHER DE LEON – The award-winning actor recalled the dark phase in his life.
In the YouTube vlog of Amy Austria, the Lolong star remembered the time he got addicted to his vices.
According to him, the first time he got hooked on his vices was when before he entered showbiz and it happened again when he became successful as a movie star.
“Nalululon ako sa masamang bisyo. I was taking all the drugs. Because of the fame, success, you have all the money. Susuweldo ka today, call up the boys, call up the gang, ‘Let’s paint the town red!’ Excessive ako sa ganun,” he said.
Christopher said he became boastful at the time.
Back then, he and his wife Sandy Andolong only have two kids.
He said that from being “on top of the world” he breakdown after seeing that his family is getting affected.
At one point, Sandy and their kids left them making him cry with his face on the floor.
He said: “I had to give up. I had to say, ‘God save me.’ I was kneeling down. ‘God, help me. I want to stop. I can’t get out of this addiction.'”
He said that he doesn’t want his marriage with Sandy to go through what happened in his first marriage.
Returning to God is also one of the reasons why he escaped from addiction and mend his relationship with his wife.
His family underwent a retreat which became a starting point for them to build a stronger relationship with God.
Christopher de Leon also said that reading the Bible with the guidance of the Holy Spirit changed him.
Christopher and Sandy have five kids namely Rafael, Miguel, Gabriel, Mariel, and Mica.
