PRESIDENT BONGBONG MARCOS — The President said that the resumption of face-to-face classes will boost the economic recovery in the Philippines.

In the 221st episode of his weekly vlog, the President is hoping for a successful resumption of in-person classes in the country later this month.

He also enjoined LGUs (local government units) anew to be more agressive in their inoculation and COVID-19 booster drives in order to ensure the safety of the public.

The President, citing government data, said that some 15.9 million Filipinos have received their 1st booster doses while more than 1.2 million have received their 2nd booster shots.

He admitted that it’s still far from the government’s target of administering at least 23 million booster doses within his first 100 days in office.

The President also acknowledged that getting more Filipinos to get their COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots is not easy but it’s crucial to reopening more sectors.

The President said that the resumption of face-to-face classes will revive economic activities in establishments around schools, adding that parents will have the opportunity to go back to work while their children are in school.

He also reminded industries to continue enforcing minimum public health standards in order to prevent a spike in coronavirus cases in the country.
