Comedian-writer Isko Salvador is retiring from showbiz after 43 years
ISKO SALVADOR – The writer and comedian who’s also known as Brod Pete took to social media wherein he announced that he’s retiring from showbiz.
He went to the social networking site, Facebook on August 3, 2022, wherein he announced his retirement.
Although he will stop being a comedian and as a writer of the script, he will continue with his “singing career” at the same time doing online comedy writing workshops for those who would like to become a writer.
“Yes laos na po ako after 43 years sa showbiz as a writer and comedian. I’m now retired. Nakakasawa din. But I am launching my singing career FYI—to pursue my true love—music!” he said.
“I’ve tried politics, mas nakakatawa kesa sa komedi ang politika. Di ako pinalad para konsehal. Siguro dahil sinabe ko na, para mawala ang baha, ipapasemento ko ang Marikina River. You don’t know soundbites—anyways—Marikina deserves less,” he added.
His statement was followed by another announcement: “Btw, I am conducting an online comedy writing workshop/playshop! Sept 3, 7 pm, via zoom. 1k petot lang- 43 yrs of comedy writing in 3 plus hours,” he said.
Apparently, some netizens don’t believe in the announcement of Isko Salvador aka Brod Pete.
He is known for his “Ang Dating Doon” parody segment in the comedy show Bubble Gang, as a host of Celebrity Bluff, and his frequent use of the word “alien”.
Salvador started his career as a scriptwriter. He began writing gags in the early 1980s as a comedy writer for the Philippines’ longest-running comedy sitcom, John en Marsha.
