This, was after some teacher groups including the Alliance of Concerned Teachers reacted to the allegedly insulting and irresponsible statement made by Tulfo in which he claimed that teachers might favor other students when they’re tasked to distribute cash assistance.

Kawawa naman,” Tulfo said.

But the DSWD chief clarified that he has no intention to offend the teachers.

According to him, the teachers might be accused of favoritism if they are tasked to distribute financial assistance to students.

Meanwhile, DSWD has rolled out giving financial assistance to needy students or “students-in-crisis.”

Accordingly, each student may receive P1,000 for those in elementary, P2,000 for those in high school, P3,000 for those in senior high school, and P4,000 for those in college/vocational school.
