The video footage of LTO and HPG personnel apprehending a car driver due to unnecessary or auxiliary lights goes viral online.

Land Transportation Office is an agency of the Philippine government under the Department of Transportation responsible for all land transportation in the Philippines. The agency is authorized to apprehend motorists who will commit traffic violations.

The Highway Patrol Group was tasked to enforce traffic laws due to worsening traffic conditions in the Metro Manila thoroughfare at the time. They were also tasked to apprehend motorists who will install unnecessary items on their vehicles.

Car Driver

The law permits the Additional Lights. The regulations requires a Minimum Luminosity (not a Maximum) and proper alignment of the light beam. There is no other technical standard for lights in the regulations for 4-wheel vehicles.

A Facebook user named Robby Consunji has shared the video footage of an LTO and HPG personnel apprehending a car driver due to unnecessary lights. The video garnered various reactions from the netizens.

In the video, it can be seen that personnel of the LTO and HPG were removing the auxiliary lights from a vehicle. The road officers also prepared a violation ticket for the car driver who allegedly commit a traffic violation.
