Former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo Heads Launching of Angat Buhay NGO
LENI ROBREDO – The former Vice President revealed the amount gathered by the non-government organization “Angat Buhay” on its launching day.
Last June 29, then outgoing Vice Pres. Robredo went to her office for the last time. She had a picture-taking with all her staff and she also granted the request of her security personnel to exhibit the tradition of exiting the office with an alarm.
The then Vice President granted the said request but only for a short distance – just within the residential area from one gate of the Office of the Vice President to the other gate. The was also given the final salute when she left the OVP for the last time.
In less than two (2) days, former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo was with the public again. On the first day of July, she launched the non-government organization, Angat Buhay, and many people joined the event even just at their homes as it was livestreamed.
The Angat Buhay foundation started with the “Street and Art Festival”. Some of the memorabilia given to the then Vice President during the Elections 2022 campaign period were auctioned.
Former Vice Pres. Robredo received a lot of gifts from her supporters and many of these gifts were paintings and other artworks. She set aside some of it for the museum that she is planning to have while others were auctioned to raise funds for the organization.
On Facebook, former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo who is now back to being a private lawyer posted the amount gathered on the 1st day of Angat Buhay foundation. According to the former Vice President, the funds reached Php 1,068,470.00.
During the launching event, the former Vice President explained that the name “Angat Buhay” was officially registered prior to the setting of the non-government organization so they have registered “Angat Pinas” instead. Meanwhile, the NGO will still be called Angat Buhay which is one of the flagship programs during her term as the VP.
