Here’s the opinion of Gretchen Ho on the killing of the Ateneo gunman’s father
GRETCHEN HO – The TV5 news anchor condemned the killing of the father of Ateneo gunman, Dr. Chao Tiao Yumol.
Yumol, 38, is the suspect in the shooting incident in Ateneo De Manila University last Sunday, July 24, wherein three people were killed including former Lamitan Mayor Rosita “Rose” Furijay, her long-time executive assistant Victor Capistrano, and Jeneven Bandiala, an on-duty security guard of the said university.
On Friday, at exactly 6:55 a.m., Dr. Yumol’s father Rolando Yumol was killed in front of their house in Lamitan City, Basilan.
Based on the police report, four gunshots took the life of the elder Yumol, who was slain by two unidentified gunmen on board a motorcycle, in short riding-in-tandem.
The victim was rushed to Lamitan District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
On Twitter, Gretchen Ho retweeted a report about the killing of Yumol’s father.
According to the former volleyball player, what happened was not fair.
“Violence begets violence. Two wrongs don’t make a right,” she noted.
“The cycle of hate just continues and wounds deepen. None of it is justifiable,” she added.
Presently, Lamitan Police is investigating the incident at the same time trying to find out the reason behind the killing of Dr. Yumol’s father.
On the other hand, the lawyer of Furigay family has denied that they are behind the killing of Rolando Yumol.
Meanwhile, Dr. Yumol’s mother Muykim Yumol has sought the help of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos following the killing of her husband.
