Ella Cruz: “History is like tsismis. It is filtered and dagdag na rin, so, hindi natin alam what is the real history.”
ELLA CRUZ — The actress recently recalled how history was discussed in school and how she is open to hear the other side of history.
Philippine Star reported that the “Maid in Malacañang” was spearheaded by Boss Vic del Rosario of Viva Films with the approval of Senator Imee Marcos.
Also, family archaeologist and historian Eliza Romualdez-Valtos was tapped as a researcher and consultant in order to depict a “very accurate” look of the last three days of the Marcos family in Malacañang back in 1986.
Ella takes on the role of Irene Marcos-Araneta in “Maid in Malacañang”.

In a one-on-one interview with the Philippine Star, Ella shared the lessons she learned after portraying Irene Marcos in the said film.
“History is like tsismis. It is filtered and dagdag na rin, so, hindi natin alam what is the real history. Andoon na iyong idea, pero may mga bias talaga. As long as we’re here alive at may kanya-kanyang opinion, I respect everyone’s opinion,” she said.
The said movie is described as a family movie with a “reliable source” from the Marcos side that the actress empathized with upon learning about the said project.
Ella also hoped that the audience will have an open mind in watching the movie that she and fellow stars — Cesar Montano, Diego Loyzaga, Ruffa Gutierrez, Cristine Reyes, and Lana Puda — have been working hard on these days.
Produced by VIVA Films and directed by Darryl Yap, the said film is set to hit the theaters worldwide on July 20.
