JV Ejercito on the hit-and-run suspect: “Justice has to be served”
JV EJERCITO – The incoming senator claimed in a tweet he received information that hit-and-run suspect Jose Antonio San Vicente has a history of stabbing an older person.
It was on June 15 when Sanvicente surrendered to the authorities and apologized for ramming security guard Christian Floralde at the intersection of Julia Vargas and St. Francis Street in Mandaluyong City last week. Apparently, the police did not arrest him.
Sanvicente was accompanied by his parents and lawyer when he appeared before a press briefing at Camp Crame in Quezon City on Wednesday afternoon.
While the investigation and hearings are ongoing, the incident continues to make headlines.
Recently, Senator-elect JV Ejercito took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter wherein he stressed that justice has to be served.
According to him, Sanvicente has to “pay the consequences of his action.”
He also claimed that he received info that he has a history of stabbing an older person because of a traffic altercation.
Apparently, the information received by the senator-elect has yet to be validated.
Here’s the Twitter post of JV Ejercito:
His post has generated mixed reactions from the netizens.
“Calling out San Vicente will not amount to anything. I urge you to direct it to the authorities particularly the chief PNP. As an incoming senator conduct a hearing on why he was not subjected to a drug test. Stop issuing motherhood statements without any clear solutions,” a netizen commented.
Meanwhile, Philippine National Police spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo said that the PNP is not giving special treatment to the hit-and-run suspect.
Fajardo also denied that the family of Sanvicente has close ties with PNP Chief Vicente Danao Jr.
The hit-and-run suspect is facing charges of frustrated murder and abandonment of one’s own victim.
