Marcos camp named Barangay chairman in QC as DILG Usec

FELICITO “CHITO” VALMOCINA – The chairman of Barangay Holy Spirit in Quezon City has been chosen as undersecretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Earlier, Executive Secretary-designate Vic Rodriguez said that barangay officials will receive larger funds in accordance with the Mandanas-Garcia ruling of the Supreme Court.

In order to utilize the funds, Rodriguez stressed the importance of barangay officials undergoing capacity-building training.

Rodriguez said incoming DILG Benhur Abalos Jr. will help with the training of barangay officials as well as “incoming Undersecretary Felicito ‘Chito’ Valmocina.”

According to Rodriguez, Valmocina has a long experience as a barangay leader.

“With Usec. Chito, magkakaroon kayo ng training, capacity-building on how to better use those funds that will be coming to your respective barangays and respective jurisdictions,” he said.

Valmocina took to social media wherein he thanked the incoming president for trusting him to be part of the DILG.
