Duterte Breaks Silence on Allegations of Cheating during Elections 2022

Pres. Duterte Wants Comelec To Investigate Faulty VCMs

DUTERTE – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte broke his silence on the allegations of cheating during the May 2022 Elections.

The May 2022 Elections are over. Last May 9, millions of Filipinos went out to vote in the local and national elections. Prior to the poll, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has made an online portal where voters can check their voting precincts available.

An automated election was held in the Philippines. Around 106,000 vote-counting machines were prepared by the poll body. The machines went through testing and sealing. The poll body announced an “all systems go” two days before the election day.

Comelec also assured that they are prepared in case problems regarding the VCMs will arise. The poll body stressed that there will be no failure of elections due to the machines.

During the election day, several vote-counting machines faced glitches and there were reports about voters staying in line for hours as they wait for the machines. On the eve of the election day, the partial and unofficial counting has abruptly reached more than 60% of the votes.

There are allegations of cheating over the Elections 2022. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, outgoing Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte wants Comelec to investigate the faulty VCMs during the election.

According to Pres. Duterte, he does not see signs of cheating during the election and he will not allow it. To satisfy the doubts of some people, the President wants the poll body to conduct an investigation and tell the people what happened.

Ibigay sa tao kung ano ang nangyari,” Pres. Duterte expressed.

Based on the partial and unofficial results of the Elections 2022, the presidential frontrunner is former Senator Bongbong Marcos. His running-mate, presidential daughter and incumbent Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, is leading the vice-presidential race.
