Here’s why Chito Miranda declined an offer to judge Idol PH Season 1
CHITO MIRANDA – The frontman of OPM band Parokya ni Edgar revealed declining an offer to judge the first season of Idol Philippines.
Idol Philippines is a reality singing television competition broadcast by Kapamilya Channel and A2Z. The show aims to find new solo singing talents.
It was hosted by singer-actor Billy Crawford; while the judging panel is composed of singer-actress Regine Velasquez, comedian and television presenter Vice Ganda, singer-actor James Reid, and singer-songwriter Moira Dela Torre.
The show’s first season aired on April 21, 2019 and concluded on July 28, 2019 naming newest Kapuso star Zephanie Dimaranan as the grand winner.
During the finale of the first season, Crawford confirmed that there will be a second season.
But due to the non-renewal of the Kapamilya network’s franchise, and with Crawford along with director Bobet Vidanes transferring on TV5, the second season will air with a new host and director.
It was just recently when the judges of the show were revealed. Regine Velasquez and Moira dela Torre will return as judges.
Also joining the panel of judges is Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda.
According to him, this is not the first time that he was offered to become a judge in the said competition.
During the first season of the show, he was offered to become a judge. However, he declined the said offer.
Aside from Miranda, also joining the panel of judges is Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano.
