Boying Remulla: “Ang red-tagging is a political term”

BOYING REMULLA – The Cavite 7th District representative clarified that his accusations against Kakampinks during the campaign period were not red-tagging but only taking off their masks.

In an interview via ANC, the politician claimed that red-tagging is just a political term.

“I’m a professional. I’m a lawyer. I know the Bill of Rights,” he said. “Ang red-tagging is a political term. I’m just unmasking them. Sinasabi ko lang ang totoo.”

“I do not subscribe to your thought that I will weaponize,” he added.

It can be recalled that Remulla made headlines during the campaign season after he accused some Kakampinks who attended a rally in Cavite are members of a communist group which is why some groups like Karapatan are wary about his appointment as Justice Secretary in the next administration.

The camp of presumptive President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has nominated Remulla to be the next secretary of the Department of Justice.

Meanwhile, Jesus Crispin “Boying” Catibayan Remulla is currently serving as the representative of Cavite’s 7th district since 2019. At the same time, he is the present Senior Deputy Majority Leader. He also served as the provincial governor of Cavite from 2016 to 2019.

His father, Juanito, was the provincial governor for fourteen years. On the other hand, his brother Gilbert, a former television reporter for ABS-CBN, was the representative of the 2nd district from 2001 to 2007. while his other brother, Jonvic, is the incumbent provincial governor.
