Hollywood Movie ‘Barbie’ Movie Gains Traction Due To Rufa Mae Quinto Edit

RUFA MAE QUINTO – Eagle-eyed netizens noticed Rufa Mae Quinto’s name in the cast members list of the upcoming Hollywood movie ‘Barbie.’

Rufa Mae Quinto is a Filipina actress and comedian. She is widely known for playing the role ‘Boobita Rose’ and ‘Booba’ in both hit movies.

She and her daughter Athena migrated to the United States in February 2020 to be with her husband Trevor Magallanes. She’s now back in the Philippines after living in the US with her family.

Rufa Mae Quinto recently trended on Twitter after a video of her singing in a campaign rally for Sen. Manny Pacquiao surfaced. Netizens were surprised seeing at the said event because, before that, she also performed at the UniTeam rally of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

According to talent manager Ogie Diaz, Rufa’s appearance at the campaign rallies of Pacman and BBM are paid. “Siyempre kailangan niyang rumaket,” he said.

A Twitter entry of a social networking service for film enthusiasts went viral after a Rufa Mae Quinto’s fan placed her as among the cast members of the upcoming Hollywood movie ‘Barbie.’ It is a live-action adventure film featuring the iconic doll set to premiere in the US in July 2023.

On Wednesday, Letterboxd uploaded a screengrab of an entry for ‘Barbie. The photo included a poster, the movie’s premise, and a list of actors.

Directed by Greta Gerwing, several Hollywood stars are also included in the cast such as Ryan Gosling, Simu Liu, America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, Ariana Greenblatt, Emma Mackey, Issa Rae, Michael Cera, Will Ferrell, King Nef, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Scott Evans, Emerald Fennell, Connor Swindells, Ncuti Gatwa, Rhea Perlman, Sharon Rooney, Ana Kayne, Ritu Arya, and Jamie Demetriou.

The post has garnered over 8,000 likes and more than 1,700 retweets, especially from eagle-eyed netizens who noticed the comedian’s name in the cast members list. In the comment section of the post, Letterboxd clarified that Rufa Mae is not part of the movie.
