Here’s the reaction of Bongbong Marcos after Comelec junk the last DQ case filed against him
BONGBONG MARCOS – The former senator-now-presidential candidate released a statement after the Commission on Elections (Comelec) junked the last disqualification case filed against him.
Bongbong Marcos or BBM runs for president in the coming elections together with his runningmate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio. They will go against the tandem of; Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Doc Willie Ong, Senator Manny Pacquiao and Buhay partylist representative, Lito Atienza as well as Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.
BBM has been facing disqualification cases that were aimed to supposedly stop his candidacy.
His last DQ case contains his alleged failure to file his income tax returns. But Comelec junked the remaining disqualification case filed against him.
In a 10-page ruling, Comelec First Division presiding commissioner Socorro Inting dismissed the case for lack of merit.
With the junking of his last disqualification case, there’s no reason BBM will halt his presidential bid.
In an interview, he released a statement following the junking of his remaining disqualification case.
“Of course it is a good development and we are happy that it happened before we came up with the actual elections,” he said.
Meanwhile, Marcos’ spokesperson Atty. Vic Rodriguez said that the junking of his last DQ case proves that the former senator is qualified to run, campaign, and serve as President of the country.
The rivals of BBM in the presidency have yet to release their statement regarding the junking of the remaining DQ case filed against him.
