Misamis Oriental Local Alliance Team Unity Supports Vice Pres. Leni Robredo
TEAM UNITY – The local alliance in Misamis Oriental expressed their support to the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo.
The local and national Elections 2022 are fast approaching and more and more political parties, groups of professionals, celebrities, and known personalities in certain fields are becoming vocal about their support to certain candidates.
Most political parties in the Philippines have already announced the candidates that they will support in the upcoming poll. In some cases, not all members of the party agree with their bets.
Recently, Team Unity in Misamis Oriental announced their support to Vice Pres. Leni Robredo’s presidential bid. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, some of the members of the local alliance are also members of the National Unity Party (NUP) which previously endorsed former Senator Bongbong Marcos.
According to the report, the Team Unity expressed their support to “RoSa” – the term floated by the supporters of Vice Pres. Leni Robredo and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte. The presidential daughter is running under Lakas-CMD and she is the running-mate of Marcos Jr.
One of the alliance members who affirmed support for Vice Pres. Robredo’s presidential bid are Misamis Oriental 2nd District Representative Juliette Uy. Her husband, Julio Uy, and her vice-governor running-mate Joey Pelaez also support the Vice President.
Based on the report, Uy and Vice Pres. Robredo are close friends and they were both freshmen in the Congress in 2013. She described her as “a very simple woman, virtuous with righteousness, commitment-committed,” and very serious when it comes to working. She further added that the Vice President is an approachable friend and a principled leader.
Uy stressed that they are not choosing their bet based on popularity but based on whom they think is the best to lead the country. Villanueva Mayor Jennie Uy-Mendez stressed that the Vice President was already a public servant even before she entered politics thus she really knows the plight of the people.
