It was just recently when SMNI, a media company owned by controversial religious leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy held a senatorial debate.

Among those who attended the debate are Luke Espiritu, Harry Roque, and Larry Gadon.

At one point, the three figured in a heated argument following talks about lowering the age of criminal liability which ended in a discussion about the Marcoses.

Their argument started when Espiritu suggest that the age of criminal liability should not be lowered. Instead, the children should be taught in school that EJK is bad as well as red-tagging and Marcos.

Gadon, a supporter of Marcos, intervened in the middle of Espiritu’s speech.

There was even a brief altercation between them.

In Gadon’s interpellation, he blamed CPP-NPA-NDF founder Joma Sison for human rights violations.

Espiritu responded with claims that Amnesty International and other groups have evidence about Marcoses’ violation of human rights.

Espiritu choked Gadon as he tries to intercede: “Wag kang bastos.”

Gadon said the aforementioned groups did not present any evidence at the country’s court.

Roque, on the other hand, was given a chance to defend former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

“Inisa-isa ko po ang mga record, wala pong kaso for human rights violations sa Amerika si Ferdinand Marcos Jr,” he said.

Espiritu fired back at Roque, telling him that he was an anti-Marcos before until he was given a senate spot under the party of BBM.

Roque clarified that they are discussing Marcos Jr. and not the late president- father of BBM.

Meanwhile, Dr. Eleanor Cardona, one of the panelists was dismayed how the debate ended about Marcoses.
