Geneva Cruz: “Sergeant Cruz, ready to serve and protect.”
GENEVA CRUZ — The actress is now a sergeant after graduating from her Philippine Air Force (PAF) training.
On Wednesday, Geneva shared the update on Instagram with a photo of her in uniform, photos from her training, as well as photos from the ceremony.
“Sergeant Cruz, ready to serve and protect,” Geneva wrote. “Today, I step in my boots and flaunt my badge as a proud member of the Philippine Air Force’s reserve command.”
Going through rigorous training, the actress shared that the experience made her fully grasp the meaning of loyalty, respect, and honor. Geneva also realized the lives of soldiers more.
According to her, she has always been “fascinated by the mystique and allure of a soldier’s charmed life” and there’s something about their aura that’s engaging and appealing to her.
Being among those who were amazed by “the snappy uniform, the clockwork precision, the gut-busting physical training, and discipline,” the actress said that there’s something more to it.

She shared that it’s also trying to grasp the abstract concepts of patriotism, heroism, and courage on the one hand, and the “sheer horror of war and bloodshed” on the other hand.
Before ending her post on Instagram, the actress took the time to remind her followers that she will not take any bashing from this achievement that she has done, saying that it’s not a teleserye or a movie.
“If you have doubts if I truly deserve this badge, maybe you should enlist, too,” Geneva said. “It’s time to put your money where your mouth is, and It’s never too late to make something out of your life instead of belittling and frowning upon another person’s passions and truth.”
Apart from herself, Geneva is dedicating this new chapter in her life to her mother in heaven and to her children.
