Here’s why JIL church won’t be endorsing any presidential aspirant
JESUS IS LORD (JIL) – A Christian megachurch based in the Philippines founded by Bro. Eddie Villanueva, will not be endorsing any presidential bet in the May 9 elections.
The May 9, 2022 election is fast approaching.
Among those who vie for the highest position in the government are Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Vice President Leni Robredo, Senator Manny Pacquiao and to name a few.
Meanwhile, House Deputy Speaker Eduardo “Bro. Eddie” Villanueva, a CIBAC party-list representative said JIL will not be endorsing any presidential aspirant in the coming polls.
Villanueva made the announcement during a Zoom press briefing on Monday, February 21.
“I have no plans [to do so] because we’re friends with almost all of them. So my prayer is that the Lord’s guidance to the Filipino people will prevail, that they will choose wisely and scrutinize, learn more about each candidate,” he said.
According to him, most of the contenders are friends of his son, reelectionist Sen. Joel Villanueva.
Villanueva noted that if he did not have a “clear impression from the Lord” in his heart, he could not easily make a decision on endorsing a particular candidate for president.
Meanwhile, it was on Tuesday, February 8 when the campaign period for national positions started.
In line with the campaign kick-off, the top presidential and vice-presidential tandems organized proclamation rallies. It was later followed by campaign rallies in different locations.
