The threats of the COVID-19 virus are still present in the Philippines thus the government continues to remind the public to keep on practicing the minimum public health protocols. Currently, Metro Manila is under Alert Level 2.
The national government previously placed Metro Manila under Alert Level 3 after the holiday season due to the surge in the cases. It was also in the pursuit to prevent the spread of the Omicron variant which sparked the cases in several nations.
The Department of Health (DOH) has confirmed that the COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila have peaked. The cases in several areas in Luzon are on a downtrend while the cases in the Visayas have plateaud.
However, everyone must be extra careful still as the virus is still present. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is currently under quarantine after he was exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
