Saab Magalona: “Hindi epal maging transparent.”

SAAB MAGALONA — The celebrity mom recently took to social media to air her political viewpoint, saying that it’s not “epal” to be transparent.

In her tweet last Thursday, January 27, Saab said that a public servant can’t expect to gain the people’s trust if he’s too shy to post his achievements.

Saab also said that it’s not “epal” to be transparent and an “epal” only appeared every election.

“Bilang public servant, trabaho mo yan. Dapat may resibo,” Saab wrote without mentioning any political candidate. “Hindi epal maging transparent. Ang epal nagpaparamdam lang tuwing eleksyon.”

What is “epal?

“Epal” is a Filipino term that refers to a person who inappropriately presents himself in a situation. It also refers to a person who butts into a conversation and is an attention grabber.

The celebrity mom supported the Leni-Kiko Tandem. In fact, “Saab #LeniKiko2022” was her name on her Twitter account.

In the “political fast talk” segment of “The 2022 Presidential One-On-One Interviews with Boy Abunda” aired last Wednesday, Robredo answered the question of why Filipinos shouldn’t vote for Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson.

“Maraming salita pero kulang sa on-the-ground na gawa,” Robredo said.

Lacson, who is also running for president in the 2022 elections, reacted to Robredo’s answer. According to him, he’s not “ma-epal” when he gives assistance to those in need.
