Will Gagamboy soon join the Spider-verse?
GAGAMBOY – The Pinoy superhero appeared during the screening of “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”
It was just recently when the latest franchise of Spider-Man was released in the country.
“Spider-Man: No Way Home” stars Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, Tobey Maguire, as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson, Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Stephen Strange, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Jon Favreau as Harold “Happy” Hogan, Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon/Electro, Willem Dafoe as Norman Osborn / Green Goblin, Alfred Molina as Otto Octavius / Doctor Octopus, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tony Revolori as Eugene “Flash” Thompson and Marisa Tomei as May Parker.
The movie centers on the story of Spider-Man asking the help of Dr. Strange to make it a secret with magic the death of Mysterio- who exposed his real identity.
However, while Dr. Strange is casting a spell, an unprecedented incident happened prompting the multiverse to open and allow supervillains with ties to versions of Spider-Man from alternate realities to enter Peter Parker’s universe.
Apparently, the screening of Spider-Man: No Way Home in the country was delayed since its release in December last year to give way for the entries of the Metro Manila Film Festival.
But on January 8, it was finally unveiled in Philippine theaters.
That’s why Spider-Man fans couldn’t help themselves as they grace the latest movie of Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Moviegoers flocked the first day of screening dressed as Spider-Man but one of the characters that caught the attention of many is no less than its Filipino version, Gagamboy.
Columbia Pictures Philippines earlier took to the social networking site, Facebook wherein it shared a photo of Gagamboy alongside other fans wearing Spider-Man costumes.
As of posting, the photo has already earned thousands of reactions and shares.
Gagamboy is a Filipino movie based on Spider-Man, which was released in 2004 starring Vhong Navarro.
Aside from Gagamboy, also starring in the photo is no other than his enemy, “Ipisman.”
