SUE RAMIREZ — The Sipalaynon actress recently took to social media to appeal for help for her hometown ravaged by typhoon “Odette”.
Sharing photos on her social media pages, Ramirez said that she felt devastated knowing about how the typhoon destroyed many parts of the Philippines — including her hometown (Sipalay City in Negros Occidental).
Ramirez shared that her family had to brace for their lives and were all safe in a relative’s house. According to her, the total damages to Sipalaynons can’t be measured, adding that some have lost their homes and all of their belongings.
She also said that her aunt told her that it may take a long time for electricity to be restored in the area.
“My family had to brace for their lives and, fortunately, are all safe in a relative’s house. Sadly, the latest report showed Sipalay having the highest death toll in the province with 16 and yet many are still missing,” Ramirez said. “The total damages to Sipalaynons cannot be measured. Some have lost their homes and all of their belongings and my aunt also said that it may take a long time for electricity to be restored.“
