Senator Gordon to President Duterte: “I pray for you… because that’s the only thing I can do.”
SENATOR GORDON — The chairman of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee said that he would just pray for President Rodrigo Duterte amidst the holiday season.
The senator and the President have traded barbs over the Senate blue ribbon committee’s inquiry into the controversial procurement of the pandemic supplies last year.
President Duterte had since insisted that there’s no corruption in the transactions, in which Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corp. was awarded billions worth of deals.
The President had frequently lashed out at the senator during his weekly “Talk to the People” briefings, saying he needed to return millions in pesos to the government and calling him names.

According to the senator, he would just pray for the President amidst the holiday season. He also said that the Philippines had a leader who was cursing in the middle of his public address.
Gordon also said that he’s ready to face all the allegations that have been thrown at him by President Duterte. He, however, called the President as the “author of fake news”.
“Mr. President, hindi ko po kayo nakasama, magkaibigan lang tayo pero sasabihin ko lang sa inyo, I pray for you… because that’s the only thing I can do,” Gordon said. “Kahit anong gawin niyo sa akin, handa akong harapin ‘yan, gumawa na kayo ng inyong mga fake news, kayo ang author ng fake news, dami niyong trolls eh wala na ho ako magagawa doon.“
The senator also recalled President Duterte’s cursing God in the past, suggesting that the crises the Philippines is facing was the result of “karma”.
