NHA To Give Odette Victims in Surigao del Norte P5,000 Cash Aid

ODETTE VICTIMS – The victims of the typhoon in Surigao del Norte will receive another P5,000.00 cash aid aside from the P5,000.00 from the government.

Many Filipinos were greatly affected by the impacts of Typhoon Odette which brought heavy rains and strong winds in the southern and central parts of the country. Many families were left homeless by the calamity.

Although PH has prepared for the typhoon, the calamity visibly has its own strength that caused the loss of lives, damages in structures, and the loss of the source of living for many individuals. Some houses were destroyed by the raging flood and heavy rains while others were damaged by the strong winds.

For some houses and infrastructures, they were damaged by the falling trees. Many people now are staying in temporary shelters and evacuation centers following the wrath of Typhoon Odette.

Surigao del Norte is one of the provinces greatly hit by the calamity. Several Typhoon Odette victims lost their houses. They are expecting the P5,000.00 cash aid from the national government.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, aside from the cash assistance from the government, the National Housing Authority (NHA) said that they will give the Odette victims in Surigao del Norte P5,000.00.

The local government of Surigao is hoping that the cash assistance will be given soon so it can be distributed to the typhoon victims. Many of those who were greatly affected by the calamity said that they will use the money in rebuilding their houses that were damaged by the typhoon.

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) said that the allocation for the financial assistance for low-income victims of Typhoon Odette will be sent to the LGUs starting today. Every member of the family will receive P1,000.00 but there is a limit of P5,000.00 per family.

  1. I just want to know why here in our place they just give 5,000 pesos to the most affected houses. How about the less affected houses?they don’t give?they also suffer from food prices that so high due to less productions…
