Margielyn Arda Didal rose to fame when she competed in the X Games Minneapolis 2018 and won a gold medal in the 2018 Asian Games.

Didal started skateboarding with friends at the now-closed Concave Park in Cebu.

When it was closed, she and her friends struggled to find a new spot where they can do skateboarding.

According to her, there was a time she and her friends were apprehended by police officers and security guards after being caught practicing in the streets and in abandoned areas.

There was even a time she was prohibited to enter from a shopping mall due to her having a skateboard.

Her parents were initially skeptical of her passion for skateboarding. Later on, they decided to give her full support

Meanwhile, aside from Margielyn Didal, the house of Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez and actress Sunshine Guimary were also affected by the recent typhoon.
