Globe Telecom announced its partnership with Crunchyroll.
GLOBE TELECOM — The Philippine telco giant recently announced its partnership with popular anime streaming service Crunchyroll.
As recently announced during the #GlobeInnoverse event held for key industry and media partners, the telco was widening its entertainment partners as it acquired a partnership with Crunchyroll along with its current entertainment partners Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Viu.
Allegedly, the said partnership means good news for anime fans since they can catch the latest episodes of their favorite anime shows, an hour after the show was aired in Japan.
Rina Siongco, the head of GET ENTERTAINED tribe at Globe, said that the said collaboration opened up more than 1,000 premium anime titles for its subscribers to enjoy when the service goes official.
The Innoverse event showcased Globe’s achievements within the year such as rolling out massive 5G efforts, laying down more than 1 Million FTTH (fiber-to-the-home) lines this year migrating Globe Broadband customers from DSL (digital subscriber line) and LTE to Fiber, establishing their stronghold on fintech (financial technology) arena through GCash and 917Ventures, and creating brand ambassador partnerships in the Philippines and around the world.
Ungeek reported that the Innoverse event also gave a sneak peek of what’s to come — including the subsequent partnership with SoundCloud.
