Senator Bong Go: ”Ako po’y nag-aantay po kay Pangulong Duterte kung sino po yung susuportahan niya.”
BONG GO — The senator said that President Rodrigo Duterte has yet to make a decision on who to support in the upcoming 2022 elections.
Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go denied that the President has already chosen Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso as the presidential candidate to support in 2022.
The senator said this amidst rumors that several current administration officials were helping in the campaign of Moreno.
”That’s not true, wala pong ganung balita ako po’y nag-aantay po kay Pangulong Duterte kung sino po yung susuportahan niya,” said Go. ”Hindi na namin mapipigilan yung iba diyan kung aalis na sila sa trabaho meron na silang susuportahan for their own survival hindi na po namin kontrolado iyan.”
The President earlier supported the candidacy of Go, but the latter announced his exit from the 2022 presidential race.
President Duterte’s daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, who was running for vice president in the 2022 elections, opted to team up with former senator Bongbong Marcos.
Go also explained why he hasn’t yet formally withdrawn his COC (certificate of candidacy) before the Commission on Elections (COMELEC).

Meanwhile, former chief presidential legal counsel Salvador Panelo told One News’ “The Chiefs” last Wednesday that the President may endorse a presidential aspirant soon.
Panelo said that the President didn’t elaborate on the presidential bet he’s eyeing to endorse in 2022, but the President’s anointed candidate could come from PDP-Laban, which currently has no standard-bearer in the upcoming 2022 national elections.
