2 Basilan Mayors Face Unexpected Shooting Incident in Zamboanga
BASILAN MAYORS – Akbar, Basilan Mayor Alih Awal Sali l and Al-Barka, Basilan Mayor Darussalam Saguindilan Lajid were shot in Zamboanga City.
Unfortunately, shooting incidents happen from time to time in certain areas in the Philippines in the past few years. Some of these incidents include people holding public office.
The suspects in some of the previous incidents were arrested while there are also those that are still off the hooks. Several families await justice to be served on what happened to their loved ones.
Recently, another similar incident took place in Zamboanga City. The said unfortunate incident involved two (2) Basilan Mayors.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, two (2) Basilan mayors were shot by still unidentified suspects in Zamboanga City. The victims were identified as Akbar, Basilan Mayor Alih Awal Sali l and Al-Barka, Basilan Mayor Darussalam Saguindilan Lajid were shot in Zamboanga City.
According to the report, the incident happened past 8:00 a.m. at Baliwasan Seaside in Zamboanga City, Monday. The initial investigation showed four (4) unidentified suspects riding in motorcycles.
Reportedly, after the incident, the suspects took the route to the inner portion of Seaside in Barangay Baliwasan. The two (2) Basilan Mayors were rushed to the nearest hospital.
Currently, the investigation regarding the incident is ongoing. There is still no information as to the condition of the victims now. More updates may be posted soon.
The recent incident is one of the many similar circumstances that also involved incumbent politicians in the government. Some incidents were reported to be in line with their jobs as public officials while others were found to be lying more on a personal note.
With regards to the recent incident in Zamboanga City, there are still no reports as to the possible motives of the suspects.
