Robredo will run for the highest position in the government in the coming polls.

She will go against presidential aspirants such as; former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and senators Manny Pacquiao, Ping Lacson and Bato dela Rosa. An immense battle is expected among the candidates in the coming months.

During the media briefing of her “Kalayaan sa COVID plan,” she vowed to appoint a competent Health secretary if elected president in the coming polls.

According to her, she would choose a leader in the Health Department who is willing to become accountable, lead the bureaucracy, understand the processes, is technically proficient, and someone who is compassionate.

“Patitibayin natin ang sistemang pangkalusugan. Sisiguruhin natin ang isang whole of nation approach kung saan malinaw ang koordinasyon at alam ng lahat ang tungkulin nila sa loob ng mas malawakang istratehiya para tumugon sa pandemya,” she said.

The presidential aspirant also vowed proper compensation for medical personnel as well as enough equipment in the hospitals such as hospital beds and ventilators.

Robredo said that the realignment of all discretionary funds which will be left by the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte is one of the highlights of her pandemic response plan.

Around P500 billion funds were identified by Robredo and her camp which can be realigned for the COVID-19 response of the Philippine government.
