Member of the so-called Ipit Gang, arrested
IPIT GANG – An alleged member of the said group has been arrested in Manila by the Manila Police District.
Jerald del Castillo was caught in the act of pickpocketing inside a bus along España in Manila.
He is said to be a member of ‘Ipit Ggang’ whose modus operandi is to pinch bus passengers and rob them there.
According to the report, all his colleagues have been detained.
Del Castillo admitted to committing the crime as well as being a member of the said gang. He insisted that it has been a year since he left the group and was prompted to steal again out of desperate need.
Meanwhile, two “akyat-bahay” suspects were also arrested for stealing a laptop.
The suspects were arrested when they met the police while they were on their way to Quiapo to sell the stolen laptop.
Aside from the two suspects, another man was arrested for physical injury and abuse to his live-in partner who’s a minor.
According to the police, the victim could not take it any longer that’s why she decided to report it to the authorities. She was accompanied by her sibling who noticed her with a black eye.
The authorities also arrested the most wanted person in Sampaloc, Manila after his partner complained of assault.
Reiner Mejia, the suspect, claimed that his partner usually quarrels with him, prompting him to beat her. Aside from direct assault, the suspect has been linked to illegal drugs. The police are still investigating the cases wherein the suspect was involved.
