Here’s the reaction of Boy Abunda on engagement of Kris Aquino
BOY ABUNDA – The King of Talk reacted to the engagement of Queen of All Media Kris Aquino with former DILG Secretary Mel Sarmiento.
It was on Sunday, October 24 when Kris announced her engagement with the ex-DILG secretary.
Among those who extended congratulations to the newly engaged couple is no less than veteran host Boy Abunda.
In an interview with the press, Tito Boy said that he’s happy for Kris “because she is happy.”
He also believes that Mel will take care of his friend, Kris Aquino.
Boy Abunda has yet to speak with Kris in person with regard to her engagement.
Aside from Tito Boy, among those who earlier reacted to the engagement of the actress/host is no other than her ex-husband James Yap.
When asked for his reaction with regards to the engagement of his ex-wife, he replied: “Happy for her [three thumbs up emojis].”
James is now happy with his current partner Michela Cazzola and they already have two children; Michael James and Francesca Michelle.
To recall, James and Kris met on February 6, 2005, at a restaurant in Greenhills, San Juan.
In the cover story of YES! Magazin in 2011, James shared that he requested talent manager Dondon Monteverde to personally meet Kris, who has been his high school crush.
Five months after getting to know each other, the two got married through a private ceremony inside the house of Boy Abunda in Quezon City.
They were blessed to have a child, Bimby Aquino Yap. Aside from Bimby, Kris also has another child, Josh, with her ex-partner, action star Phillip Salvador.
However, their married life was ruined by the alleged infidelity of James. But the basketball star denied the allegations thrown at him at the time.
On June 27, 2010, Kris announced via defunct showbiz talk show, The Buzz, that they have separated. Their marriage was annulled by the court last January 9, 2012.
