Sara Duterte Believes “Ship Has Sailed” On Possibility Of Running For President, Says Ally

Sara Duterte believed that the “ship has sailed” for the possibility of running for president in the 2022 elections, according to her ally.

SARA DUTERTE — The Davao City mayor‘s ally said that the presidential daughter believed the “ship has sailed” for the possibility of running for president in the 2022 elections.

This was revealed by Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque when he was asked during the Presidential press briefing on Monday if President Rodrigo Duterte was still convincing his daughter to run for president in the 2022 elections.

According to the Palace spokesman, he talked with Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia to find out what was discussed in Cebu and Governor Gwen told him that Mayor Sara said of her possibility of running for president in the 2022 elections, “That ship has sailed.”

Nakausap ko po kasi si Governor Gwen Garcia para malaman kung ano talagang napag-usapan sa Cebu. Ang sabi po ni Governor Gwen sa akin is ang sabi daw ni Mayor Sara on her possibility of running for president, ‘That ship has sailed.’ Talagang mayor po ang takbo ni Mayor Sara,” Roque said.

Mayor Sara was in Cebu last week wherein she met with Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia and presidential contender Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Earlier, President Duterte said that his daughter would run for president next year, but Mayor Sara has registered a candidacy for re-election in Davao City.

Meanwhile, presidential aspirant Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa met with Mayor Sara on Monday wherein he reminded her that November 15 was “fast approaching”.

This, as Dela Rosa recently shared a “teaser” photo on Facebook and said that he met with Mayor Sara at the Davao City Hall.

Sharing Dela Rosa’s post on her Facebook page, Mayor Sara thanked the senator for his advice and words of wisdom.
