Here’s why Lucy Torres withdraws plan to run for senator according to her husband Richard Gomez

RICHARD GOMEZ – The mayor of Ormoc City revealed why his wife Lucy Torres withdrew her plan to run for senator in the 2022 elections.

A month before the filing of the Certificate of Candidacy (COC), Lucy has been open to saying that she might seek a senatorial seat.

But according to her husband, she has backed out.

Lucy is on her last term as the 4th district representative of Leyte.

In the coming election, she will run as the mayor of Ormoc while her husband will run for Congressman. In other words, they will exchange posts.

Richard shared that a lot of political parties offered her a senate slot but she declined.

“She had no plans of running for senate. Lucy had no plans of running in senate except that she’s been invited by three major parties to run with them, but Lucy said no,” he said.

He added that there are things that they need to do in Ormoc in spite of the “good survey results.”

With plans to run for congress, Richard said he will help ABS-CBN return airing on free television.

It would be recalled that it was on July 10, 2020, when Congress canceled the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN that led to the closure of the giant network.

Because of this, the management of ABS-CBN decided to retrench some of its workers. There were also talents who decided to transfer to other networks such as Pokwang, Bea Alonzo and the latest is Kuya Kim.
