Gadon wanted the COMELEC to investigate and if the evidence warranted, pursue disqualification proceedings against the Vice President who was running for president in the 2022 elections.

He cited two instances that could lead to Robredo’s being sidelined from next year’s polls.

Sa dahilang siya ay nagpo-promote at nage-encourage ng vote buying, dapat siya i-disqualify ng Comelec pero matapos na maimbestigahan,” Gadon said.

Gadon also said that Robredo’s fundraising campaign to finance her presidential bid was also a violation of election laws.

He, who was the lone senatorial candidate of Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL), accused the Vice President of encouraging vote buying when she publicly advised the public to accept bribe money from vote buyers but to vote to whoever truly deserve their support.

Commission on Elections (COMELEC) spokesperson James Jimenez had recently warned that this was indeed prodding vote buying which was prohibited under election laws.

Gadon also admitted that accusing the Vice President of encouraging vote buying may not merit her disqualification as of now because her candidacy for president in the 2022 elections has yet to be officially proclaimed by the COMELEC.

But I am convinced a violation of the law has already been committed with regards to the crowdfunding decision of the Robredo camp,” Gadon said.

Gadon explained that there’s a strong possibility that foreign companies or foreigners might donate money in order to fund Robredo’s campaign by seeking donations.
