The senatorial slot is one of the coveted positions during the national elections.

This year, out of hundreds who filed their Certificate of Candidacy (COC) only 12 will be elected.

Among those who are rooting a senatorial slot in the coming elections are ordinary citizens to elite individuals as well as prominent personalities.

Earlier, Secretary Bello confirmed that his brother Silvestre “Estring” Bello Jr. filed a certificate of candidacy for senator. His brother was mistaken for the labor chief.

In an interview via ANC’s Headstart, he said: “He filed but I don’t know why. I’m seriously considering but there’s a very big condition to it. If my favorite standard bearer will file then I will file.”

When asked who his standard-bearer was, he revealed it was Mayor Sara Duterte.

In case Sara won’t run for president, he said his brother would push through with his candidacy.

Meanwhile, Bello is concurrently Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process.

He was a former Justice Secretary, Solicitor General and representative of 1-BAP party-list during the 16th Congress of the Philippines.
