The husband of Megastar Sharon Cuneta vies for the second-highest position in the government in the 2022 elections. He will go against Doc Willie Ong, Lito Atienza and his close relative, Tito Sotto.

In an interview via CNN Philippines, Kiko said that his rivalry with Sotto is not an easy situation.

“Siyempre, hindi madali itong sitwasyon gaya ng sinabi at na-post ni Sharon but I guess lahat naman ng pamilya mayroon talagang mga hindi pagkakasundo, may mga tampuhan, may hidwaan,” he said.

The lawmaker said that their family is not exempted from going through similar experiences of having different opinions but he is hoping for a reconciliation “for the hurts that may have been caused.”

According to Kiko Pangilinan, before announcing his candidacy, he had informed and explained it to Sotto. He responded recognizing that these scenarios happen.

Kiko will run for vice president alongside his running mate, Vice President Leni Robredo while Sotto vies for the said post with the presidential candidate, Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson.

Previously, Sharon Cuneta went to social media to express her sentiment between her husband and uncle Tito Sotto, who are both vying for the same position.

She said that her heart is divided whom to choose between her husband and the husband of Helen Gamboa, the sister of her mother.

Even Ciara Sotto, the daughter of Tito and Helen admitted that she cried after she found out that her cousin-in-law will be her dad’s rival.
