In a statement posted on Facebook, the Davao City mayor confirmed that she met the former senator in Cebu to celebrate the birthday of Tingog Party-list Representative Yedda Romualdez.

Confirmed po na nagkita kami ngayon lang ni Presidential aspirant at former Senator BBM sa masayang pagdiriwang ng birthday ni Cong. Yedda, maybahay ni House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez sa Cebu,” Mayor Sara said.

Mayor Sara and Bongbong have yet to confirm if their plans for the 2022 elections were among the things they’re discussing at the moment.

Prior to this, Mayor Sara shared that she met Senator Imee Marcos and Cebu City Vice Mayor Mike Rama in Cebu Saturday morning.

Earlier, Bongbong’s campaign manager Atty. Vic Rodriguez said that finding themselves together in Cebu was just another “beautiful coincidence”.

Both Mayor Sara and Bongbong arrived in Cebu on Friday.

The Davao City mayor went to Cebu to talk to her cousin, while the former senator went to Cebu to pay a courtesy call on Governor Gwen Garcia.

Mayor Sara filed her COC (certificate of candidacy) for her reelection as Davao City mayor last October 2, while Bongbong filed his COC for president last October 6.

Meanwhile, Bongbong’s camp maintained on Saturday that the former senator obtained a degree from the University of Oxford.

This, after Oxford Philippines Society expressed concern over what it called “continuing misinformation” as regards the presidential aspirant’s academic achievements.
