Vice Pres. Robredo Speaks on Possibilities in Election 2022
ROBREDO – Vice President Leni Robredo confirmed that she is ready to face former Senator Bongbong Marcos in Election 2022 in case.
The Election 2022 is fast approaching and the filing of the certificates of candidacies (COCs) to the Commission on Election is set to start soon. Politicians start to announce their political plans for next year.
Several months ago, there were already consistent names in surveys for possible presidential candidates in 2022. One of them is Vice President Leni Robredo.
The Vice President is speculated to be the standard-bearer of the opposition. Meanwhile, there is still no final say about it. She is vocal that her pursuit now is unity.
If ever she will be faced off with former Sen. Bongbong Marcos again in the Election 2022, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Vice Pres. Leni Robredo is ready for another political race with him.
Robredo and Marcos were contenders in the 2016 Election for vice president. She won the vice presidency with some 263,000 votes lead from the only son of the late former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
Marcos contested the victory of Robredo. He filed an electoral protest but it was junked by the Court.
For the next election, the Vice President is ready to face off with anyone if ever she will be chosen by the opposition. According to her, what she wants to avoid are factions among the anti-admin forces.
“Kung one-on-onena Bongbong Marcos, lalaban ako kahit dehado… Iyong pine-prevent ko lang naman na kami-kami (opposition) maghihiwalay,” she said.
The Vice President confirmed that she is set to meet and talk with Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Sen. Manny Pacquiao. Both men are also speculated about the possibility to run for president in the next election.
