Coldplay recently dropped the teaser image for the upcoming single “My Universe”, which will feature South Korean pop group BTS. The single will be released on September 24, 2021 on music streaming platforms.

According to the purchase information, the said track will be available as a limited-edition two-track CD single, and the inside cover will include a reproduction of handwritten lyrics by both BTS and Coldplay. The instrumental version of the song will also be included in the CD single as well.

It was last July when Soompi reported that the lyrics of “My Universe” were uploaded on the music lyric database site MatchLyric.

Aside from this, leaked sound sources of what seemed to be the song containing voices believed to belong to Coldplay’s Chris Martin and BTS’s Jungkook spread online at that time.

Big Hit Music and Warner Music Korea responded to the circulating rumors last July, saying that it’s “difficult to confirm the related content”.

Earlier this month, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and BTS members Jin, RM, SUGA, V, Jimin, J-Hope, and Jungkook participated in an interview together about BTS’s “Permission to Dance” challenge.

During the interview, BTS shared their thoughts about becoming an undeniable global phenomenon. According to RM, it’s a different matter when they’re with their fans and saw their “energy” and “honesty”.

With this, Martin had nothing but praises for the group and told them that he had a lot of love and respect for them.

I feel that during the pandemic, you guys have been giving a lot of joy to a lot of people in a time where it’s been very difficult to do that. So I have a lot of love and respect for you for that,” Martin said.
