Garcia said that even though Lacson announced that he would run for the presidency in the 2022 elections, he did not ask for her support.

He said Lacson is not in the habit of asking for support.

The governor shared that even her late father Pabling Garcia admired Ping Lacson.

She said Lacson was a decent man because in 2004 when he ran for the presidency, he did not ask for her father’s support because he knew that his bet was Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Lacson is said to be running the highest position in the country alongside his vice-presidentiable, Senator Tito Sotto.

In an interview via ANC, he vowed that he will end corruption if he’s elected as the next president in the coming 2022 elections.

According to him, he will be “unforgiving” to those who are committing acts of corruption.

Meanwhile, Lacson is among those who are considered top candidates in the presidential elections are incumbent Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, Senator-boxing champ Manny Pacquiao, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, Vice-President Leni Robredo, and former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

However, the aforementioned politicians are yet to confirm if they are running for the said position or not.

Meanwhile, the filing of certificates of candidacies will be from October 1 up to October 8, 2021, while the campaign period for nationally-elected positions will kick off on February 8, 2022, until May 7, 2022.
