In an interview with local pageant websites which was live-streamed on Facebook, Kisses said that she had always been inspired by Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago. Like her, Santiago also hailed from Masbate.

Kisses also said that she first saw Santiago as a teenager when the actress competed — and eventually won — the local pageants Miss Kaogma and Miss Masbate wherein Santiago was the host at that time.

According to her, she met Santiago personally and was just really in awe of the amazing things Santiago did on the international stage.

Kisses also mentioned another Miss International titleholder as her inspiration aside from Santiago. The actress said that she was honored to have beauty queen friends like Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa.

Having won both the headshot and intro video challenges, Kisses was considered a fan favorite in Miss Universe Philippines 2021.

The top 100 candidates will be cut down to the top 75, based on their performance in different challenges, all of which were done remotely or from the delegates’ respective homes.

After that, the top 75 delegates will be cut down to 50 candidates who will then be asked to come to NCR for in-person interviews with the Miss Universe Philippines organization.

Only the top 30 candidates, which will be announced on August 31, 2021, will compete live and in-person during the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 coronation night.

The Miss Universe Philippines 2021 coronation night will be held on September 25, 2021. The winner will represent the Philippines in the upcoming Miss Universe pageant set in Israel in December this year.
