Cavite Governor Remulla Reacts to Negative Statements Vs. Mayor Isko Moreno
Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla defended Manila Mayor Isko Moreno from criticisms over his photos when he was still in showbiz.
A huge part of the life of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno is a not much of a secret to the public. It is not only because of his political career but the life he had before it – a life as an actor.
Many people known that Moreno came from a poor family. They even had to collect garbage and food leftovers just so they can eat. He started working at a young age to help his parents.
When he entered showbiz with the help of the late German Moreno, he became part of That’s Entertainment. He also played several leading man roles and achieved success in showbiz.
Like several other celebrities, Moreno have several photos circulating online even until now that he is not anymore active in showbiz. He is a dedicated mayor of Manila City since 2019. Prior to it, he has served as a councilor and a vice mayor.
Recently, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte spoke his criticisms over a “Metro Manila mayor” whose photos, which seemingly refer to the Manila Mayor, scatter online.
Although the President did not directly name names, many people were quick to defend Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. One of those who defended him is Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla.
Governor Remulla and Mayor Moreno previously had a conflict over the cash aid issue. Meanwhile, according to the Governor, they were able to resolve it right away without going personal against each other.
The Cavite Governor then started citing the alleged sudden incident of Mayor Isko Moreno being the target of criticisms. He stressed that the background of the Mayor is no secret to the public and he might have joined showbiz before to take his family out from poverty.
“To not take advantage of such privilege would have been foolish. Kung ako ang tatanungin ninyo? Hindi ito isyu,” Gov. Remulla stated.
The Cavite Governor stressed that Mayor Isko Moreno did those poses when he was in showbiz and not when he was holding any position in the government. According to him, what is important is that the Mayor did not lie, steal, take any life, nor brought shame to the Manilenos.
“Yorme should not be judged on such juvenile merits. Let his record of governance speak for itself,” Remulla stated.
