MANILA CASH AID – The local government of Manila is set to distribute the financial assistance today and here is a guide on how to claim the ayuda.

There are concerns over the possible spread of the Delta variant in the Philippines in case no action would be taken. This variant of concern is known for its higher transmissibility rate thus it hooked attention.

The Delta variant was first logged in India. It caused a spike in the COVID-19 cases in the country resulting to the collapse of the healthcare system. Unfortunately, the hospitals ran out of resources and many were not accommodate due to full capacities. A lot of people died.

The same variant recently caused an increase in the COVID-19 cases in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and several other countries.

In the Philippines, local transmissions of the Delta variant have been recorded. It urged the re-imposition of stricter community quarantine measures.

Metro Manila is currently under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) until August 20. Many businesses have to suspend their operations while others are on a limited operation.

A lot of people are relying on their daily wage thus the 2-week ECQ is greatly challenging for many households. To financially assist those who will be greatly affected by the lockdown, the national government extended cash aid.

The local government of Manila has already received the fund for Manila cash aid and it is set for distribution today. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the releasing will be under the Manila Social Welfare Department.

To claim the cash aid, the beneficiary must present a barangay certificate and a valid ID. Based on the report, it will be released in a venue because the Social Welfare cannot do a house-to-house releasing as there are over 380,000 families who are beneficiaries of the Manila cash aid.

Fugoso assured that although it will be a face-to-face releasing of the funds, social distancing would be implemented and the health protocols would be followed.
