President Duterte was expected to shoot a new infomercial on COVID-19 vaccination.
On Thursday, Malacañang said that President Rodrigo Duterte was expected to shoot a new infomercial on COVID-19 vaccination.
President Duterte was expected to appear in a new public service advertisement urging the public to get vaccinated against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
On Thursday, Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said in his regular press briefing that President Duterte was expected to shoot his spiels for the infomercial this coming Monday.
The public service advertisement was part of the government’s communication team’s efforts to ease vaccine hesitancy in the country.
“Hindi po tayo titigil. At sa Lunes nga po, iti-tape natin si Presidente dahil siya po iyong biggest endorser natin para doon sa bagong infomercial na hinahanda po ng Office of the Presidential Spokesperson,” Roque said.

President Duterte had become fully vaccinated against COVID-19 after recently taking his second dose of Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine.
The President had repeatedly urged the public to get vaccinated as soon as possible as well as to continue to observe health regulations in order to avoid the spread of coronavirus disease.
President Duterte also said that vaccination was the country’s “best defense” to prevent the local transmission of the more transmissible COVID-19 variants in the Philippines.
Since the national government’s COVID-19 vaccination drive started last March, over 3.5 million Filipinos have completed their two-dose COVID-19 vaccine regime.
The national government reportedly aimed to fully vaccinate 7 million people by the end of July 2021.
Earlier, Roque’s office initiated an infomercial promoting health protocols in order to fight the coronavirus disease. President Duterte appeared in the “Mask, Hugas, Iwas” advertisement commissioned with the help of a private advertising company.
The public service advertisement was usually aired before Roque started his public briefing aired on state television and other government’s social media pages.
