President Duterte On Legacy: “Hindi ko ipagyabang”
On Thursday, President Rodrigo Duterte said that he will not brag about his administration’s accomplishments and legacy.
During the inauguration of the LRT-2 East Extension Project in Antipolo City, President Duterte said that he wanted people to just “look around” and see what the government has done.
With a year left before his term ended, President Duterte was asked what he will share as his legacy in his last State of the Nation Address (SONA).
“All I want is for people to just look around. Ito [LRT-2]. Hindi ko ipagyabang. Unang una, hindi ko ito pera,” President Duterte said.

President Duterte said that the credit goes to officials who worked on the ground, mentioning Cabinet members like Public Works Secretary Mark Villar and Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade who were present at the said event.
“I will just mention what were the projects completed, without necessarily attributing the miracle to me. Worker ako ng government. Nagtrabaho lang ako, so wala akong dapat ipagyabang,” President Duterte said.
President Duterte’s interaction with the press happened after he led the inauguration of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 2 East Extension Project in Antipolo City.
Meanwhile, President Duterte was set to deliver his last State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 26, 2021.
