Philippines’ telecommunications brand Globe Telecom expanded the deployment of its 4G LTE network in 12 provinces in the Philippines.

For the last six months, Globe Telecom said that it continued its network modernization program across the country.

Joel Agustin, Globe SVP for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group, said that those network improvements will bring better SMS, call, and data browsing services to their customers especially in areas that need connectivity the most.

Breaking down, Globe Telecom said that more than 500 sites in Batangas province were upgraded to 4G LTE from the old 3G network. In addition, a total of 488 locations in the National Capital Region (NCR) and 450 sites in Cebu were also migrated to 4G LTE.

In Mindanao, 366 sites were currently powered by 4G LTE in Davao del Sur, while 126 sites in Davao del Norte had been upgraded. Also, 79 sites in Bukidnon have been migrated to 4G LTE, while 85 locations in Bohol were currently 4G LTE ready.

Moreover, Globe Telecom had upgraded 195 in Cavite, 328 in Laguna, 111 sites in Cagayan, 88 in Rizal, and 358 in Pampanga.

As we have promised since the start of the year, we really intend to make 4G LTE more pervasive not only in Luzon but in more areas also in Visayas and Mindanao,” Agustin said.
